Multi-Chain Token Launch Attribution Across 3 Networks
A token launching on Ethereum, Base, and Solana simultaneously used per-chain attribution links to discover which channels actually drove on-chain conversions on each network.
Disclaimer: This is a simulated scenario based on common patterns in multi-chain launches. Project details are anonymized and data is illustrative.
The challenge
Marketing campaigns drove traffic to all three chains, but the team had no way to answer: Which chain's users came from which campaign? Twitter ads generated the most clicks overall, but did those clicks convert to token purchases? And on which chain?
Without per-chain attribution, the team was making budget decisions based on clicks and impressions — not on-chain conversions.
The setup: 18 unique tracking links
6
marketing channels
3
chains (ETH, Base, SOL)
18
unique attribution links
Channels: Discord, Twitter Ads, KOL Campaign, Content/SEO, Telegram, Newsletter. Each channel got a unique link per chain for complete cross-chain attribution.
Results by chain
| Chain | Total Clicks | Wallets | On-Chain | Avg CPW | Avg Quality | Median Conv. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ethereum | 6,600 | 460 | 270 | $18 | 7.2/10 | 5 days |
| Base | 9,600 | 725 | 440 | $10 | 6.4/10 | 3 days |
| Solana | 11,300 | 950 | 610 | $8 | 5.9/10 | 2 days |
Solana: fastest conversions
Median 2-day conversion time. Low fees mean users convert quickly, but wallet quality was lower (5.9/10) due to higher bot activity.
Ethereum: highest wallet quality
Highest average wallet quality (7.2/10). Gas costs act as a natural bot filter, but also slow conversions (5-day median).
Base: lowest cost per wallet
Best CPW ($10 average) with balanced quality (6.4/10). Fast L2 transactions and growing ecosystem made it the most cost-efficient chain.
Results by channel (all chains combined)
| Channel | On-Chain Conv. | Avg Quality | Avg CPW | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Discord | 455 | 7.7/10 | $6.70 | Best on-chain conversion rate and quality |
| Content/SEO | 180 | 8.5/10 | $5.70 | Highest quality but lower volume |
| Newsletter | 135 | 7.5/10 | $8.70 | High quality, moderate volume |
| KOL Campaign | 310 | 6.2/10 | $13.30 | Good volume, mixed quality |
| Twitter Ads | 155 | 5.2/10 | $21.70 | Most clicks but worst on-chain ROI |
| Telegram | 85 | 4.0/10 | $16.70 | Lowest quality and conversion |
The attribution insight
Without per-chain attribution
Twitter Ads generated the most clicks (12,500 total) across all chains. The team would have concluded Twitter was the best channel and increased its budget.
With per-chain attribution
Discord drove 3x more on-chain conversions than Twitter Ads (455 vs 155) at 3x lower CPW ($6.70 vs $21.70) with higher wallet quality (7.7 vs 5.2).
Clicks are a vanity metric. On-chain conversions are the only metric that matters for token launches. Per-chain attribution revealed the true picture that aggregate click data completely obscured.

FAQs
How do you attribute marketing campaigns across multiple chains?
Create unique tracking links per channel per chain. For example, if you have 6 marketing channels and 3 chains, you need 18 unique links. This lets you see exactly which channel drove wallets on which chain and compare cross-chain performance.
Which blockchain users convert fastest from marketing campaigns?
In simulated patterns, Solana users tend to convert fastest (median 2 days) due to low fees and fast transactions. Ethereum users take longer (median 5 days) but tend to have higher wallet quality. Base users fall in between (median 3 days).
Is Twitter or Discord better for crypto token launches?
Discord consistently outperforms Twitter ads on on-chain conversion quality. Twitter drives more raw clicks, but Discord drives more actual token purchases and higher wallet quality. The gap is typically 2-3x in favor of Discord on cost per real conversion.
What is the best chain for lowest cost per wallet?
Base typically has the lowest CPW due to low gas fees and growing ecosystem adoption. However, lowest CPW does not mean best ROI — Ethereum wallets often have higher lifetime value despite costing more to acquire.
