Methodology
Numbers on this page are aggregated from three public sources and refreshed on the same weekly cadence as our internal traffic report:
- BaseScan x402 labels — cumulative transaction counts per facilitator.
- x402station — active API count, service-level activity.
- x402.report — protocol-wide volume and integration news.
This dashboard is a public snapshot, not a real-time feed. For real-time per-agent tracking, register agent wallets in Web3 Trackers.
FAQs
How often is this dashboard updated?
Weekly. Figures are pulled from BaseScan labels, x402station, and x402.report and refreshed during the Monday weekly status review.
Where do the numbers come from?
Cumulative transaction counts: BaseScan x402 label pages and Solana program indexers. Volume: x402station aggregated metrics. Facilitator identities: public BaseScan labels. Service category breakdown: on-chain receipt analysis by known x402-enabled API addresses.
Why is daily volume fluctuating so much?
x402 adoption is workload-driven, not user-driven. A single research-agent campaign or inference-workflow burst can move daily volume by 30–50%. The cumulative trend is more meaningful than any single day.
Can I track my own agent's spend here?
Not on this dashboard — it shows protocol-wide aggregates. For per-agent tracking, register agent wallets in Web3 Trackers and tag them with workflow IDs. See the AI Agent ROI guide.
Is x402 the same as ACP or AP2?
No. x402 is crypto-native (USDC on-chain). ACP (Stripe + OpenAI) uses card rails. AP2 (Google) is a rail-agnostic authorization framework. They solve the same problem — letting agents pay — in different ways. See the x402 vs ACP vs AP2 comparison.
